HPNF SCHOLARSHIP, GRANT & AWARD APPLICATIONS & NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN!

HPNF announces applications and nominations are open for the following 25 grants, awards and scholarships.  Deadline for application is June 1, 2013, unless otherwise indicated.  Click on links below for further information and application forms.

Certification Research Grant

Research Grant with the purpose to seek the impact of certification within the research topic that pertains to palliative care. The grant award is $15,000.

Project on Death in America (PDIA) Nursing Leadership Award in Palliative Care

Award, in accordance with a grant from the Project on Death in America by the Open Society Institute, to a nurse who has emerged as a leader in palliative care. $750 award and expenses to the 2014 AAHPM/HPNA Annual Assembly in San Diego.

Certification Scholarships

6 scholarships available (preference 1 at each level of CHPNA®, CHPLN®, CHPN®, CHPPN®, ACHPN®, CHPCA®) for the reimbursement of December 2012 and March 2013 Certification and Re-Certification fees, with the purpose to support nurses and administrators who have demonstrated and validated their expertise as specialists.

Conference Scholarships

5 scholarships available to the 7th Annual HPNA Clinical Practice Forum to be held in September 2013, Integration of Palliative Care Concepts: Neurological Conditions.

Individual Education Scholarships

6 scholarships available (2 Doctorate at $3000 each, 2 Master's at $2000 each, 1 Bachelor's at $1000, and 1 Associate at $750) with the purpose to support nurses who are advancing their career through academic achievement.

Chapter Education Grants

6 grants available, up to $500 each, with the purpose to expand chapter membership and to benefit all chapter members through education.

American Nurses Foundation/Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation 2013 Nursing Research Grant

1 Research Grant of $5000, in collaboration with the American Nurses Foundation. Applicants may be new or experienced researchers whose work focuses on hospice and palliative care.  Preference will be given to HPNA members.  Application deadline is May 1, 2013.  Apply to ANF directly at http://anfonline.org/Doc-Vault/Programs/NursingResearchGrant. 

DEADLINE PASSED FOR Sigma Theta Tau International/Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation End of Life Nursing Care Research Grant

1 Research Grant of maximum $10,000, in collaboration with Sigma Theta Tau International.  The purpose of this research grant is to encourage qualified nurses to contribute to the advancement of nursing care through research.  Proposals for pilot and/or developmental research may be submitted for the grant. Application deadline is passed, April 1, 2013.  Recipient to be announced soon.
